Parliament Building

I created the illustration using Illustrator. I used a reference photo I took of the Parliament building.

The image below was created for a thank you card. It was given to the guest speakers, sponsors, volunteers, etc at the end of the Bloody Words Mystery Conference which was held in June 2009.

The illustration was also used as part of the Flash animated banner that appeared on their site www.bloodywords2009.com (Please note: This site may not be "live" anymore.)

I also created several other items such as: advertisements; promo items; program books; along with their web site.

I offered my services on a volunteer basis and sat on the executive steering committee for the event.

The event received literary grants from the Canadian Council for the Arts, and the City of Ottawa. It was officially opened by the Deputy Mayor of Ottawa.  Congratulatory letters were received from the Deputy Minister of Heritage Canada, and the Mayor of Ottawa. Media coverage included CBC Radio One and several articles appeared in local and national papers to promote and cover the event. Other sponsors included the Ottawa Public Library and The Writer magazine

I am proud to have contributed to its' success!
